How to order a temporary debit card

When you tell us your debit card was lost or stolen, it can take seven working days for a new one to arrive. If you need a replacement sooner than that, you can get a temporary card at some of our branches.

Temporary debit cards cost £12 and are valid for 28 days from the date we issue them. There’s no charge if you have a Young Person's Account or a BarclayPlus account.

You can’t order a temporary card if your account has been open for less than 30 days. We can only print you a temporary debit card, not a cash card, credit card or savings card.

How to get a temporary debit card

Use our branch finder tool to locate a branch. Not all branches can print temporary debit cards – when you’ve selected one, look under ‘Services available’ to check.

The branch will print your temporary card on the same day. You’ll need your PIN and some photo ID, such as a passport, to collect it.

Your temporary card will have the same PIN as the card you’re replacing, but it’ll have a new card number. We can’t print any personalised images on it.

You can order two temporary cards at a branch every 12 months. If you’ve already reached this limit, you can order a new replacement card at the branch, and we'll send it to you by post.
