Unfortunately, we’ll still close your pack if you update your address in the app.
If you and your partner live at different addresses and you both want cover, you can each open your own pack. If you and your partner live at the same address, please make sure this is updated in the app. You can then open a new pack if you want to.
If you open a new Travel or Travel Plus Pack within 14 days of your current pack closing, you’ll still benefit from the 12-month window where you won’t need to complete an online medical screening until you book your next holiday.
If you open a new Tech Pack within 14 days of your current pack closing, you’ll still benefit from your second-year reduced excess.
We’ve sent you a letter to explain the changes in more detail. You can read this in the Barclays app or Online Banking by going to ‘Statements and documents’.
You’ll be covered if you live with the main pack holder, as long as there’s only two people on the joint account. You’ll automatically be selected as the nominated party on your partner’s pack, which means you can enjoy all the same pack benefits as before, but you won’t be able to make changes to the pack.
You’ll be covered if you live with the main pack holder and you meet the other eligibility requirements. To make claims yourself, your partner will need to nominate you as the nominated party. They can do this in the Barclays app by going to 'Manage my pack’ in the Barclays app or Online Banking.
No. The pack will still be paid out of your joint account, but it’ll be the main pack holder’s responsibility to pay.
If you’d like to change the account the pack is paid from, you’ll need to wait until we update your pack. After that, the pack holder can change their payment method by going to ‘Manage my pack’ in the Barclays app or Online Banking.
At the moment, you pay for your pack at the end of the month. We’re changing this so you’ll pay for each month in advance.
When we update your pack, you’ll get a month for free so we won’t charge you twice. After that, we’ll collect your pack fee on the first working day of each month.
If you cancel your pack and re-open it before we update your pack, you’ll be charged twice on the first day of the month. This is to pay for your previous month of cover, and for the upcoming month in advance, as we’re changing when we bill you.
We choose the person who interacts with us the most, or the youngest person covered on the pack, as the pack holder.
The pack holder and nominated partner are both covered. However, the pack holder is the only person who can cancel the pack and change the payment method.
If you’re the nominated partner, you can still make claims, register devices for Tech Pack, make claims for Travel Pack and enjoy airport lounge access and concierge benefits with Travel Plus Pack. However, you can’t change the payment method or cancel your pack. You also can’t see the pack in the Barclays app or Online Banking – only the pack holder can see it.
The pack holder will need to cancel and re-open the pack to change this. The pack holder will need to re-open the pack within 14 days to keep their pack benefits and cover. We know this can be complicated and we’re looking for ways to make this easier.
You can make a claim as the pack holder or nominated partner in the usual way. You can still claim for any incidents that happened in the past while you were covered, and any ongoing claims will still be processed.

You can complete your medical screening on the Barclays app. To get started, go to ‘Products’, ‘Insurance’, then ‘Travel and Breakdown’. Select whichever pack you hold, then go to ‘Manage travel insurance’ and ‘Tell us about pre-existing medical conditions’.
Alternatively, you can go to Online Banking. Go to ‘Insure’ then ‘Travel insurance’. Select your pack, then go to ‘Manage travel insurance’ and ‘Tell us about pre-existing medical conditions’.
If you have any of the below that have been accepted by Aviva:
- Pre-existing medical conditions we’ve accepted in writing
- Changes to a pre-existing medical condition that we’ve accepted in writing
- New diagnosed conditions
- New symptoms.
You’ll be covered for any trips that were booked before we update your pack and are scheduled within 12 months of starting your pack.
If you book any trips after we updated your pack, you’ll need to complete an online medical screening even if Aviva have already accepted your conditions. You also might need to buy a medical upgrade if you need cover for a pre-existing medical condition.
No, your monthly payments will stay the same. However, you’ll need to pay a one-off fee to get a pre-existing medical condition upgrade. This will cover your medical condition for 12 months, and the fee will vary depending on the condition.
Yes, we’ll let you know to complete an online medical screening in your annual pack reminder letter.
Keep in mind that the pack holder and the nominated party are both covered and can both make claims. The only difference is that the pack holder can cancel the pack and change the payment method. If you cancel it to switch this, your cover and benefits might change, depending on which pack you have.
You can read more about the changes to your cover and benefits in the Barclays app or Online Banking by going to ‘Statements and documents’.

It’ll end when we update your pack. We’ve sent you a letter with more information – you can read this in the Barclays app or Online Banking by going to ‘Statements and documents’.
No, it’ll stay the same.
You’ll need to pay interest (around £2.49) if you use £100 of your overdraft, unless your agreed overdraft is interest-free.
If you have an interest-free overdraft on balances over £100, you won’t pay interest on your overdraft as normal.
No. If you keep your pack, we’ll carry over your registered devices to the updated pack. However, if you cancel your pack and reopen it later, your details won’t be saved and you’ll need to register your devices again.
No, we’ll carry over all your claims so you don’t need to do anything. Even if you cancel your pack with ongoing claims, we’ll still process them.
