Avios FAQs

Once you've met your eligibility your Avios will be credited to your British Airways Executive Club account (BAEC). This can take up to eight weeks. The 100,000 Avios bonus will be added to your BAEC account but won't be displayed in the Barclays or Barclaycard apps.
The BAEC and all Avios issued and redeemed under these terms are subject to British Airways Executive Club terms and conditions.

Your Barclaycard can take up to 24 hours following application to show in the Barclays app.

We recommend that you use the Barclays app. This will show you all of your personal banking information and your Barclaycard details.

To collect the bonus of 100,000 Avios, you need to hold both a Barclaycard Avios Plus credit card (£20 monthly fee) and Barclays Avios Rewards (£12 monthly fee). At least one of these products should be new and opened during the qualifying period (3 October 2022 – 30 November 2022). You’ll also need to hold the products for four months or more from the date the last product was opened. Eligibility and terms and conditions apply to each product.

No. Your current Barclaycard card will stop working 30 days after the transfer to your new card has been completed.

When you change your card, you'll get a new card number. You’ll need to give this to any companies who you’ve authorised to take regular payments from your account. You’ll also need update your card details if you have them saved with online retailers.
Before your new card arrives, you can continue to use your existing card for regular and online payments as normal.

No. Your PIN will stay the same. If you want to change your PIN, you can do this at most UK cash machines by following the on-screen instructions.

You can opt in to Barclays Avios Rewards if you’re a Premier Banking customer or have a personal Wealth current account with us – you’ll need to register for the Barclays app and have a British Airways Executive Club account too. There’s a £12 monthly fee and you have to opt out of Barclays Blue Rewards and go paperless for all your accounts and services with us. To access Barclays Avios Rewards in the Barclays app, you need to be over 18. You can join Premier Banking for free if you have an income of £75,000 or £100,000 held with us. To be eligible for free Premier Banking, you’ll need to have a Barclays current account and either pay in an annual gross income of £75,000 or more into that account, or hold at least £100,000 in savings with us and/or in personal Barclays UK investments. There’ll be a £20 monthly fee if you don’t meet this. We’ll review your eligibility regularly and if you don’t qualify for free Premier Banking, we’ll contact you to explain your options.Return to reference
