You can earn Amazon Rewards wherever you pay with the Amazon Barclaycard. Get 1% back in rewards when you shop on Amazon1, and 0.5% back everywhere else2. Prime members get 2% back during eligible Amazon key shopping events, like Prime Day3. We’ll update your rewards daily so they’re ready for you to check in our app.

  • When you’ve earned £5 in rewards, you can transfer a £5 Amazon Gift Card to your linked Amazon.co.uk account or let them keep growing
  • As you carry on earning, you can transfer gift cards in multiples of £5
  • You'll find your gift cards in your linked Amazon.co.uk account within two hours of transferring them
  • You can apply gift cards to your purchases when you check out at Amazon.

Important things you need to know

Being accepted for a card depends on your credit history and how you’ve managed credit in the past. Depending on your individual circumstances, we may offer you an APR of 34.9% APR variable. Of course, if you’re not happy with this alternative you don’t have to go ahead with it.

  • Your standard and cash interest rates will move up and down in line with the Bank of England base rate or for other reasons that we’ve explained in your terms and conditions [PDF, 232KB]

  • This is an app-only account. You’ll need to use the Barclays or Barclaycard app to manage your account
  • Your account will be set up with digital statements. These can be found in your Barclays or Barclaycard app
  • The introductory 0% purchase offer is only available to new customers and we reserve the right to withdraw the offer at any time
  • Unfortunately, Apple Pay is unavailable for the Amazon Barclaycard. You can still use your card via contactless, or on Google Pay if you have an Android device.

Get 1% back in rewards when you shop on Amazon, and 0.5% back everywhere else (0.5% changes to 0.25% after 12 months from the date you open your card account). If you’re a Prime member, you’ll get 2% back when you shop on Amazon and at specified Amazon-supported channels and entities during eligible key shopping events, like Prime Day. Eligible key shopping events will be selected and displayed specifically for the Amazon Barclaycard at Amazon's discretion. The increased rewards rate won’t apply to all Amazon shopping events.

You’ll earn the 'shop on Amazon' rewards rate for purchases made at the following Amazon-supported channels and entities: Amazon Retail, Amazon Marketplace, Amazon Fresh, Amazon Music, Whole Foods, Audible, Kindle, Twitch, Amazon Prime Video, Amazon Luna, Amazon Blink, AWS Training UK, Amazon Bulk Liquidations, and Amazon Trade In UK.

You’ll collect Amazon Rewards on new purchases, but not on balance transfers, money transfers and transactions that make up your cash balance. These include cash withdrawals, wire transfers and buying currency. You won’t collect rewards for any transactions that are later returned or refunded; or for any transactions made via a third party card or account such as Curve or PayPal. You also need to keep to the terms and conditions [PDF, 232KB] of your account and stay within your credit limit. Amazon Barclaycard credit card FAQs

We'll add your gift card to the Amazon account that you applied from, if we approve your application. We'll send you an email to confirm this.

We'll update the rewards you earn through purchases daily, and you can check them in our app.

Once you've earned £5 in Amazon Rewards, you can transfer them as a gift card to your linked Amazon account. As you carry on earning, you can transfer gift cards in multiples of £5. So if you have a rewards balance of £17.50, you could transfer £15 as gift cards, leaving £2.50 in your rewards balance.

You'll find your gift cards in your linked Amazon account within two hours of transferring them. Then you can apply them to your purchases when you check out at Amazon – it's that simple.

For the moment, you won’t be able to apply for the Amazon Barclaycard if you already have a Barclaycard or had one within the past six months. We'll update this page when that changes. You can apply if you have a corporate Barclaycard but not a personal Barclaycard.

Before you apply

We'll take you to Amazon to start your application, and you’ll get a response within minutes. If approved, you can start using your new card on Amazon and online as soon as it appears in your Barclays or Barclaycard app.

Amazon will add your new card to your Amazon.co.uk wallet, and set it as the default payment method for your Amazon purchases. We’ll send a plastic card separately to your home address within 7 working days.

To be approved you need to:

  • Be 18 years old or over and a UK resident

  • Have been living permanently at a UK
    address for at least two years

  • Be able to afford repayments on any
    outstanding credit commitments

  • Have not had a Barclaycard for the past six
    months

  • Have no Individual Voluntary
    Agreements, County Court Judgments
    or declarations of bankruptcy within the
    past six years.

What you'll need to hand:

  • Address details for the last two years

  • Phone number and email address

  • Current employment details

  • Details of your annual income before tax

  • Details of your monthly income after tax

  • A good idea about your monthly outgoings

  • Your sort code and account number, if
    you have a Barclays current account

You’re more likely to be approved if you:  

  • Always make payments on time

  • Have at least four years’ experience of
    managing credit

  • Have a personal income of more than
    £20,000 a year

  • Pass a ‘soft’ (eligibility) credit check. This
    helps us estimate the credit limit you
    could get and won’t affect your credit
    score.
