What is my account balance?
There are different types of account balances shown in Online Banking
Available balance
Your available balance is the most up-to-date balance and shows how much cash you can access at that time, excluding any cheques paid into your account and payments that haven’t been processed yet – eg, recent debit card transactions.
Last night’s balance
Last night’s balance includes all payments into and out of your account before 6:30pm the previous working day but not how much cash you have available. Cheques paid into your account will be included here, but not in your available balance until they’ve been processed.
Current balance
Your current balance includes all payments into and out of your account since last night’s balance, and any cheques paid in that haven’t cleared yet. It doesn’t show you how much cash you have available.
Cleared balance
A cleared balance includes any cash or cheques that have been paid into your account and have completed the clearing cycle
You can withdraw money or transfer money to another account from your cleared balance.
To see what’s cleared, select the account name on your Online Banking homepage and go to ‘Available balance’.
