How to change or turn off your debit card contactless limit
You can view the following details securely in our app – you can use them to make payments online or over the phone if you don’t have your debit card with you, or it hasn’t arrived yet:
We automatically set your contactless limit at £100. You can change this to any amount between £5 and £100, or turn contactless payments off.
Your contactless limit doesn’t affect Chip and PIN payments, or payments made by Apple Pay or Contactless Mobile.
How to change your contactless debit card payment limit in the Barclays app
1. Select ‘Your cards’.
2. Choose your debit card.
3. Select ‘Contactless limit’ under ‘Spending controls’.
4. Choose a limit between £5 and £100.
5. Select ‘Save’.
How to turn off your contactless debit card payment limit in the Barclays app
1. Select ‘Your cards’.
2. Choose your debit card.
3. Select ‘Contactless limit’ under ‘Spending controls’.
4. Turn ‘Contactless payments’ off.
5. Select ‘Save’.
