What to do when your replacement debit card arrives

If you tell us your debit card is damaged, lost or stolen, we’ll post you a replacement within seven working days to the address we have for you. We send it by Royal Mail second-class post.

You don’t need to activate your new card when you get it – you just need to make a chip-and-PIN transaction before you can make a contactless payment.

Your new card will have a different number, so you’ll need to update your card details if you’ve registered them anywhere. For example, with online shops or subscription payments.

Destroy your old card, if you still have it, once you’ve started using the new one.

If you requested a replacement PIN

If you asked for a replacement PIN when you reported your card as lost or stolen, we’ll send this separately to your new card.

If you didn’t ask for a new PIN for your replacement debit card, you can continue to use your existing PIN.
