How to log in to/access the app
Once you’ve registered for the app, you’ll need to open it and identify yourself by using either
- The five-digit passcode you used at registration
Or
- Touch ID/fingerprint scanner or Face ID/face unlock (if these features are on your device and you’ve turned them on for the app)
Using Touch ID/fingerprint scanner
Touch ID/fingerprint scanner lets you log in to apps using your fingerprint (Touch ID on Apple, fingerprint scanner on Android devices). Once you’ve registered your fingerprint on your device, you can sign in by touching your finger or thumb on the home button. If the scan matches your profile, your device will unlock. You can use your passcode instead if you’d like to.
If you switch on Touch ID/fingerprint scanner, you’ll also be able to log in to the Barclays app using your five-digit passcode if you choose. To do this, tap ‘Cancel’ when asked to use your fingerprint.
Every now and then, we’ll also ask you to log in using your passcode – just to be sure you don’t forget it.
Using Face ID/face unlock
Face ID/face unlock uses your face to unlock your device and some of your apps (Face ID on Apple, face unlock on Android devices). It can be used instead of a passcode (although you’ll need to set a passcode to turn on this feature). Once you’ve set it up, you can unlock your device by simply looking at your screen.
You’ll also still be able to use your five-digit passcode to log in. To do this, tap ‘No thanks’ when asked to use your face. Every now and then, we’ll also ask you to log in using your passcode – just to be sure you don’t forget it.
