What is an Online Banking passcode and how do I get one?
Your 5-digit Online Banking passcode enables you to access Online Banking when it’s used together with your memorable word. You’ll be sent your passcode in the post within 5 working days of registering for Online Banking.
If you use PINsentry to access Online Banking, you won’t need a passcode.
Once you've logged in to Online Banking with the passcode we provide you, you can change it at any time to a number that's easier to remember by going to the drop-down menu under your name on the homepage and selecting ‘Set up passcode and memorable word’ under under ‘My details’.
It’s important that you remember your Online Banking passcode, and that you keep it secure. If you keep the passcode we provide, you should tear up the paper it’s printed on after you receive it. If you need to write it down, it’s important that you disguise it – this is part of your customer agreement with us.
If you create a new passcode, you should avoid using obvious numbers, such as 12345, other similar sequences or part of your phone number, for example.
