Transfer an ISA in the Barclays app

To transfer an ISA in the Barclays app, we’ll need:

  • The details of the ISA you want to transfer, including the name of the provider, sort code and account number
  • Your National Insurance number.

Here’s what you need to do:

1. Select ‘Products’ at the bottom of your home page, then ‘Transfer-in an existing ISA’

2. Choose whether you’re transferring a cash ISA or Investment (Stocks and Shares) ISA to us, and whether you’re transferring the ISA from another provider or from us

3. If you’re transferring a cash ISA from another provider, see if the provider’s name appears on the A-Z list of providers that allow electronic ISA transfers.

If the provider isn’t on the list, then you can enter the details manually.

If you’re transferring an Investment (Stocks and Shares) ISA, you’ll have to enter the provider’s name manually. If this ISA only contains cash, it’s still considered an Investment (Stocks and Shares) ISA

4. Choose whether you want to transfer all or part of the ISA balance.

If you’ve already paid into an ISA in the current tax year (6 April to 5 April each year), you’ll need to transfer all of the money you paid in so far this tax year. You can choose to transfer only part of the money you’ve paid in during previous years if you want to

5. Finally, we’ll ask you to confirm that the details of your transfer are correct. After you complete your ISA transfer request, we’ll contact you if we need any more information.

How long will it take to transfer my ISA?

If you’re transferring from a cash ISA you currently have with us, it should take less than two days.

If the ISA you’re transferring from is with another provider, it can take up to 15 working days.

For investment ISAs, the transfer can take up to 30 calendar days.
