Collecting Avios helps bring you closer to the travel experiences you want, from flights and hotels to car hire and more. You could collect at least 20,500 Avios – enough for a peak British Airways return economy (Euro Traveller) flight to Nice by the end of your first year².

Receive a joining bonus

Get a 25,000 Avios joining bonus if you’re opening your first account with Barclays – you’ll need to complete a full switch using the Current Account Switch Service within three months⁴.

An anniversary reward

How to start collecting Avios with us

You need to be a Premier Banking customer⁷ or have a personal Wealth current account to switch on Barclays Avios Rewards. Once you have an eligible current account, you can join Barclays Avios Rewards in the Barclays app. To get Avios, you’ll need to:

Pay a £12 monthly fee
Be a Premier customer or have a Personal Wealth current account
Have, or open, a British Airways Executive Club membership – we’ll transfer your Avios into this account
Agree to paperless statements for all accounts and services you have with us, if you haven’t already
Be a UK resident who is registered for the Barclays app
Choose to be a member of Barclays Avios Rewards or Barclays Blue Rewards – you can’t join both.

Are you eligible for Premier?

To join Premier Banking, you’ll need to open a Premier Current Account and either:

Pay in a gross income of at least £75,000
Or, have a total balance of at least £100,000 in savings with us, in Barclays UK investments, or in a mixture of both.

To qualify for the 25,000 Avios joining bonus, you’ll need to join Barclays Avios Rewards within four months of opening your first Barclays current account. Then, you’ll need to complete a full switch of your old current account to us, using the Current Account Switch Service – within three months of joining Barclays Avios Rewards. There’s a £12 monthly fee and you have to opt out of Barclays Blue Rewards and go paperless for all your accounts and services with us.
